Susan G. Komen Austin: Pink parties and more

Red Fan has been a continuous strategic partner to Komen Austin by not only organizing the communications leg of the nonprofit, but in driving traffic and media to large events throughout the year, including the annual Pink Party.

In Komen’s early stages, Red Fan provided the organization with refreshed and strategic messaging that is still used to this day. From creating the organization’s tagline “Saving lives locally. Fighting breast cancer globally.” to providing recommendations on website and social media strategy, the results of our brand positioning audit have aided Komen Austin in their continuous fundraising efforts even amidst corporate PR challenges.

In 2014, the Perfectly Pink Gala saw more than 400 guests and raised more than $350,000- a $150,000 increase from the previous year. Media relations efforts provided over 350 media placements for the 2014 Perfectly Pink Party, including Community Impact, the Austin Business Journal, Austin Woman Magazine, Austin Monthly, Tribeza and more.

Upon partnering again in 2015, the Pink Party garnered even more traction, specifically in establishing core relationships with fashion bloggers. The event in 2015 raised more than $450,000.
