Red Fan Communications strengthens team with new hires and internal promotions

Austin public relations firm grows with bolstered account team

Red Fan Communications, a leading, full-service public relations firm based in Austin, has hired Brooke Boriack, formerly with KGBTexas, as an account executive and Kristen O’Brien, former articles and photo rights coordinator at the New York Times in Paris and ELLE Magazine editor, as a media strategist. The firm also announced the promotion of former Account Coordinator Emma Chase to account executive.

“Red Fan has seen such growth and prosperity in the last year, which can definitely be attributed to our stellar accounts team and strategic employee structure,” said Kathleen Lucente, president and founder of Red Fan Communications. “As we move into an even better 2016, I am excited to see these new hires and promotions continue to strengthen our offerings in technology, banking, entertainment and hospitality.”

Previously an account executive at KGBTexas, Boriack managed media relations for AT&T in Central and South Texas, as well as other clients in the construction, housing and public affairs industries. She brings proven, first-class local, regional and national media relations skills into her new roll as an account executive at Red Fan. Prior to KGBTexas, Boriack served as a fellow and strategic advisor to the global chairman at Hill + Knowlton Strategies. By working directly with Jack Martin in overseeing clients, Boriack garnered excellent senior thought leadership and internal communications skills.

"Joining the Red Fan team was the best decision I made in 2015," said Boriack. "From the one-of-a-kind office culture to the extremely talented mentors, colleagues and clients I work with each day, I couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of this company."

Red Fan Communications also recently secured O’Brien as a media strategist. O’Brien’s extensive local and international experiences as a journalist, editor and PR professional bring a fresh and holistic PR approach to the Red Fan team. O’Brien has developed successful PR campaigns and luxury event experiences for clients ranging from Uchi restaurant and Mack, Jack and McConaughey to the Austin Film Festival.

“As a journalist myself, I truly appreciate working alongside colleagues who understand the media landscape and what it means to craft great stories,” said O’Brien. “I’m excited to continue to secure meaningful coverage and opportunities for the wonderful portfolio Red Fan has.”

After serving as account coordinator, Chase was recently promoted to account executive after successfully executing on multiple media relations strategies and efforts for clients such as the Trail of Lights Foundation, Metropia and Q2 Holdings, Inc.

“I love having the opportunity to win big for clients I’m truly passionate about,” said Chase. “From promoting a non-profit, to an app start-up, to a public company… there’s never a dull moment at Red Fan.”
